Who can learn Powered Paragliding?
A powered paraglider (PPG), also called a paramotor trike, is one of the simplest and most accessible ways to experience personal flight. It combines a lightweight paraglider wing with a small engine and propeller fitted on a 3 wheeled trike. No runway needed. No hangar. Just open sky.
For anyone who has ever dreamed of flying without the complexity and cost of traditional aviation, powered paragliding is the closest thing to strapping on wings and taking off.
India's National Aero Sports Policy (NASP) framework has opened the door for enthusiasts to legally fly powered paragliders as hobby pilots. As yet no license is required to fly Powered Paragliders in India but in case the pilot has an APPI (Association of Paraglider Pilots and Instructors) Certification, which is designed to be recognised globally, it is always better than having none.
There are very few places in India where you can train properly. Most adventure operators offer joyrides. Systematic pilot training on powered paragliders, where you learn to fly solo and earn a certification, is rare.
GFZ Flying Club at Go Fly Zone Airfield, Shahpura is one of the only dedicated facilities in India where you can train from zero to certified powered paraglider pilot in a structured, safe environment.
Training at GFZ is designed for complete beginners. You don't need any prior flying experience. Here's what the journey looks like:
🪂 Phase 1, Ground Handling
Before you ever leave the ground, you learn to control the wing. You'll practice inflating, steering, and managing the canopy in all wind conditions. This is the foundation, and it's where most of your early hours go.
⚙️ Phase 2, Engine Familiarisation
You get comfortable with the paramotor unit, how it starts, how thrust works, how to manage power in flight. Safety checks, pre-flight routines, and emergency procedures are covered here.
🛫 Phase 3, Supervised Flights
Your first flights are short, low, and supervised by an instructor on the ground. You'll practice takeoffs, turns, and landings repeatedly until they're second nature.
🌤️ Phase 4, Solo Flying
Once your instructor clears you, you fly on your own. At this stage, you're a pilot, not a passenger. You'll build hours toward your certification.
Most people learn to fly at sites that are improvised, open fields, hillsides, or beaches with no infrastructure. Go Fly Zone is different:
Secured, fenced airfield with dedicated hangars, apron, and runways
Controlled, private aero-sports environment, no public interference, no surprises
Professional safety supervision at every stage of training
India's first Flight Center for Albatross Flying Systems, the only company in India manufacturing aero-sports aircraft
Easily accessible, located on the Delhi–Jaipur highway near Shahpura, reachable from Delhi, Jaipur, and beyond
