About GFZ Flying Club

  Microlight Aviation Private Limited, the parent company of GFZ Flying Club, was founded in 2009 by Capt Vibhuti Singh, fondly known in the aviation community as "Thakur Sahab." In 2011, he achieved a remarkable feat by establishing a small grass airfield, which he named Go Fly Zone. His primary goal was to advance aerosports as hobby flying, aiming to shift aviation from a luxury experience to one of convenience, making it accessible to the general public, all while upholding the motto "Everyone can Fly." In this exciting venture, Go Fly Zone started functioning as a helicopter maintenance and parking base, earning recognition for housing one of the largest helicopters in the world (the Erickson Air-Crane) and later serving as a drone testing range. The airfield is being utilized by few of the leading figures in the drone industry for a range of highly confidential drone projects. 

At the start of 2023, Capt Vibhuti Singh was approached by representatives from the Aerosports community, who conveyed their interest in utilizing the airfield for aerosports activities. Following this, the GFZ Flying Club was established on the airfield, with the sole objective of converting it into a center of excellence for aerosports. In India, aerosports has been neglected and overlooked for far too long, igniting a fervent desire among enthusiasts to engage in flying for hobby purposes. We at GFZ Flying Club are absolutely convinced that aerosports and hobby pilot training courses hold immense potential and are destined to flourish, just as they have, across the globe, particularly in the United States and Europe.
